Diving Sites in Micronesia

LeisurePro Tip: If you're going scuba diving in Micronesia, make sure to visit these exciting dive sites:

  • Truk Lagoon (Chuuk Lagoon): This site is home to several WWII shipwrecks across a span of 77 miles. With visibility from 30 to 100 feet, water temperature of about 83 degrees Fahrenheit and only minor currents, you can spend a great deal of time exploring the sunken ships.
  • Palau: Located in Southwest Micronesia, Palau is home to over 1,500 species of marine life and 700 different types of coral. Visibility is up to 60 feet and dive depth is as far as you can go. Additionally, you may catch a glimpse of giant clams, dolphins and sea cows. Don't forget your underwater digital camera!
  • The Yap islands: These four islands are located in the Western part of the Pacific Ocean and are interconnected by a coral reef. Manta Rays are often spotted here between December and April. Drift divers will enjoy their visit, as the currents here are moderate to strong.
